Toasty Hat

I made this hat while I was pregnant with Kit and traveling to London on the train everyday. It’s a double sided number which means we can reverse it to a nice red hat when it takes our fancy and makes it doubley thick and warm. Made with some Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino and its also one of her patterns from Essential Baby.

Giant Knitting

I’ve recently come across this Aran Rug by Christien Meindertsma which has inspired me to do some mega chunky knitting and make my own rug. Obviously totally impractical with a small baby who will mash rice cakes and sick into it but a giant piece of knitting on the floor sounds like my kinda thing. Dan’s mum and dad keep sheep in france so they’re keeping bags of wool for me to one day clean and spin into a giant ball of wool! I’ll let you know how I get on…

Its A Balaclarva!

Its been really chilly this winter and Kit’s needed something to keep him toasty warm, so I made him this balaclarva. Today was its first outing and i’m pretty pleased with it. Made with the pattern from Ninny Noodle Noo and some Debbie Bliss Cashmerino aran. I think this is going to be my last winter knitting project as with the speed i’m knitting at the moment it’ll be summer before he gets anything new. Next project is knitted toys!

Connie’s Cardi

My good friends Damo and Sue have just had a baby girl called Connie and as a present I made her this cardi. I got the pattern for free online from here and its knitted with organic cotton I purchased from Purl in Brighton.

Kit even modeled for me! The first of many I think.
